Who Do You Go To?

When you need to talk to someone, who do you turn to? Do you take their advice, or do you sometimes fall into the trap of speaking to each of your friends in turn until one them says something that agrees with your own point of view?! I know that I sometimes been guilty of this, but true friends are those who will say what they think is right before God regardless of how it might be received.

Recently I was with a friend who challenged me in a way that seemed (at the time) rather harsh. A few days later I went back to my friend and thanked them. Not just because he had been right in what he had said, but because he had done it in the first place! So it was with Jesus, when He spoke He never looked for approval or acceptance, He simply wanted people to listen and obey God’s word.

We end this (academic) year with an assembly based on the parable of the sower. At first it can seem another one of those ‘simple’ parables is easy to understand and act upon. Until we remember that Jesus was talking to ‘believers’, then we realise how challenging it actually is! The cost of choosing to ignore God’s word is indeed a great one, so please pray for us as we seek to communicate this crucial message to the children, especially those in year 6, as it will be the last time we see them.

Also, as it is the end of another year for Pathway (my eighth!), let me take this opportunity to thank you again for your continued prayers and support. The team and I consider it a constant privilege to be able to take the Bible message into so many schools, none of which would be possible without your support.

Have a great summer!
